#32 "A Little Bit" in Chinese - 有点儿(yǒu diǎn ér) vs. 一点儿(yī diǎn ér) (Hybrid)
A lot of Mandarin language learners find "有点儿yǒu diǎn ér" and "一点儿yī diǎn ér" can be really confusing during communication. Chinese is easy! We will go through the key structures with these two words and distinguish the differences between them.

About the event
Appetizer (30 mins) - Introduction to New Words & Phrases
We will start with "有点儿 (yǒu diǎn ér) + adj", try to come up with sentences with given adjectives like 热 hot、冷 cold、多 many、少 few、大 big、小 small、贵 expensive、便宜 cheap. Then, we will move on to the phrase "verb+一点儿(yī diǎn ér). Students will learn some verbs like 吃 eat、喝 drink、买 buy and try to say sentences with these words.
Main Course (30 mins) - Now, Let's Practice
We will practice the structure "A比B+adj+一点儿" with the adjectives learnt from the first part. Then, students can choose two places they are familiar with to make comparison. They can compare in terms of the weather, food, population and so on. All the students are welcomed to give brief presentations.
Dessert (30 mins) - Open Discussions
Chinese people actually use degree words a lot in daily converstions. Students can share more degree words they know in Chinese. For example, 很(hěn),非常(fēi cháng), etc. They can also tell us how degree words are used in their own languages.
