About the event

Appetizer (30 mins) - Introduction to New Words & Phrases

We will kick off by focusing on the vocabulary associated with five traditional festivals: Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Qi Xi Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival. We'll delve deeper into these celebrations, exploring not only the words but also the delectable food and engaging activities that make these festivals so culturally rich and vibrant.

Main Course (30 mins) - Now, Let's Practice

Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the festivities by selecting one of the mentioned festivals. They can share their preferred celebration plans, describing the activities they wish to partake in, the delectable dishes or desserts they'd like to savor, and even the picturesque places they dream of visiting during the chosen festival. This interactive approach allows students to express their creativity while honing their language skills.

Dessert (30 mins) - Open Discussions

We encourage students to explore the cultural diversity of festivals. Beyond the traditional Chinese festivals, we invite everyone to share and introduce festivals from their own culture that bear similarities or unique customs. By doing so, we foster cross-cultural understanding and enrich our collective knowledge of various festive traditions. Students can discuss the significance, rituals, and joyous aspects of these festivals, fostering an environment of cultural exchange and appreciation.
