# 5 Tipping Guide in Canada

Have you ever experienced the "awkward moment" when you tip? Do you take it as a respect for those who provide you the service or is it more of a "face problem"? Tipping culture is not common in China. However, it seems to have become a "problematic moment" for some people in Canada.

About the event

Appetizer (30 mins) - Introduction to New Words & Phrases

You'll learn and practice about numbers, prices and percentages when you pay for the bills and tips in Mandarin. Let's practice number 1 to 10 before the session would be highly recommended (Click here). After the appetizer, you're expected to be confident in counting numbers within thousands, using hand gestures to show numbers in Mandarin and saying prices.

Main Course (30 mins) - Now, Let's Practice

You'll experience the real-life situations when paying for the bills in Mandarin under the context of ordering take-out in a restaurant and discussing about tipping with friends. You'll receive the materials aligned with your needs at the entry or advanced level.

Dessert (30 mins) - Open Discussions

After reading A guide to tipping in Canada, you're welcome to share your thoughts and stories about the tipping culture and moments in the past. You can add some "spices" to this dessert part. Don't worry if you're a beginner, you'll learn the keywords to express your ideas in Mandarin and say your thoughts in English!
