Through interactive activities, we will explore Mu Xin's life, art gallery, and poetry. As an artist who lived abroad yet continued to write and express himself in Chinese, his poetry embodies the beauty of the Chinese language and reflects the global influences on him.

About the Event
Appetizer (30 mins) - Introduction to New Words & Phrases
Using photos and paintings, we will showcase key moments from Mu Xin's life, including his birthplace, background, and time spent living in China and abroad. We will also provide a brief overview of his literary and artistic achievements.
Main Course (30 mins) - Now, Let's Practice
In this session, we will focus on learning and appreciating Mu Xin's poem "The Past Was Slow" (《从前慢》) through songs, discussions, and analysis. We will:
- Conduct a line-by-line analysis of the poem, explaining the imagery and metaphors used by Mu Xin.
- Discuss how the poem reflects Mu Xin's longing for a simpler, slower-paced life.
- Encourage students to share their interpretations and feelings about each line.
Dessert (30 mins) - Open Discussions
Students will be encouraged to translate this poem into English. We will share our translations at the end.
